STEP 1
Search WorldCat Discovery for books (and other items) on the subject for a bibliography. (You can also search for journal articles although it is easier to work from the library databases).
IMPORTANT: You need to Filter results (left hand column) from a search results page. For example: Limit to items by Held by Library. Then by Format (Books is the most useful). There is a 50 item limit for export at one time. Repeat as needed with theses steps.
STEP 2
Having limited the number of Results to 50 or fewer, save them by selecting Save item by item for the bibliography.
When finished marking Save, check the upper right of the results page for Saved Items total..
IMPORTANT: Do NOT refresh or leave the results page (for example, to check or add titles). You will lose your work! The results page is temporary and cannot be directly saved. Once you upload to RefWorks you will have many options for working with results.
STEP 3
Select Saved Items in the upper right of the results page. You will see a new page with the total of saved items at the top. Look for the option ribbon below this. Select the CITE option.
Once Cite is selected, a new option page comes up. Select Export to RefWorks
Do NOT select a citation style (This is done in RefWorks).
