Introduction

Welcome! This LibGuide was created to introduce you to some starting places as you begin your hunt for information. Here you will find pointers to relevant resources such as the Library catalog (WorldCat Discover), article databases, government & association websites, e-books, etc.

The best tip I can offer you is to start researching your assignments as soon as possible. Test your topics to make sure that credible information is available before committing yourself to that project. An 8-week class will go by in a flash and  you may not have the luxury of last minute access to information.

It is highly likely that some of the resources you will want to use are not freely or fully available online. Starting your research cycle early means having time to acquire those gems that aren't easily available or to switch gears entirely.

If you run into the proverbial brick wall, ask for help. The librarians can help you develop search terms, suggest additional sources, and identify alternate options for accessing materials. See Getting Help below or my contact information to the right.

Getting Help

The old adage "two heads are better than one" definitely applies to research. Everyone gets stuck finding resources, picking a database, figuring out good search terms, etc. When in doubt, reach out for help...
