Library Introduction

  • What are the Library's Hours?
    • For up-to-date library hours please see the CALENDAR 
  • Can I print at the library?
    • Yes! As of 08/26/2024, we have switched to Papercut for our printing 
    • USING A UTICA COMPUTER
      • Choose Print from your application and choose PaperCut as the printer or destination. 
      • Go to any printer and tap your ID Card on the scanner.  You’ll be logged into the printer.
        • For printers with no touch screen, it will begin printing.
        • For printers with a touch screen, press the Print Release icon, then choose the items to print and press the Print button.
    • USING A PERSONAL COMPUTER  
      • On your personal laptop, you can install the ability to print.  Visit www.utica.edu/printUtica and go through the on screen prompts, or visit www.utica.edu/personalprint for full instructions.  This is a one time setup.
      • Once setup. Go to the site or document you want to print and click on print and then select the printer, PaperCut [Utica-Papercut](Mobility) and click Print.

        • For printers with a touch screen, press the Print Release icon, then choose the items to print and press the Print button. 
    • We have 5 Black & White Printers and 2 Color Printers
      • Students have a print quota: For more info click HERE
        • Black & White PrintingAll students have UNLIMITED black and white printing.

        • Color Printing: Your annual quota amount is 50 pages. Each side of a printed page in color will deduct 1 page from your quota.

  • Where can I get help with research?
  • How can I reserve a study room?
    • We have a new button on our webpage for Study Rooms. (We are not using Navigate anymore) 
      • Study rooms
    • You can search for the time you want to reserve(up to three hours a day).
      • Pick the Study Room you would like to use.
    • You'll submit info: Name, Email, ID #
    • Check-in with the Circulation Desk at the time of your appointment. 
  • How long can I keep books I check out?
    • Books (second floor): 60-day loan period.
    • Popular Reading (first floor): 28-day loan period.
    • Renewals: May be renewed twice unless the item is needed by another patron or is on course reserve.
    • ILL Materials: Can be renewable once, however, some borrowing libraries do not allow renewals. Contact ill@utica.edu with questions
  • How can I renew ILL books?
    • On our main page is a button for the ILL Program ILLiad ILLIAD
    • Once you've logged in, you can renew any of the materials you checked out.

  • Can I access library resources off-campus?
    • Yes! You will be asked to verify you are a Utica student by entering your Utica username and password, but may then use the resources as usual.

      • If your access is denied, contact the library for help.
