Referencing Web Sites in APA 7

Example of a web site reference in APA 7:

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network. (2022). Being anti-racist is central to trauma-informed care: Principles of an anti-racist, trauma-informed organization. https://www.nctsn.org/resources/being-anti-racist-is-central-to-trauma-informed-care-principles-of-an-anti-racist-trauma-informed-organization

To reference a web site in APA 7 style, you should list these elements in the following order, separated by periods:

Author - This is sometimes the name of the person who wrote the site's content, but it may also be an organization's name or a person's screenname. Capitalize the first word of each part of this name. For a named person, use (Lastname, Initial. Initial.). End with a period.

Date - This is the publication date of the website.  It should appear in parentheses in your reference.  It may also include a month and date. Use n.d. if there is no date given.   End with a period. Examples: (1998).     (2022, August 8).     (n.d.).

Title - This is the title or name of the page that you're referencing. It should appear in sentence case: that is, apart from proper names, only the first letter of the first word of the title and the subtitle are capitalized. The title should appear in italics. End with a period.

Source - This is the name of the person or organization that published the website. You can omit the source if it's the same as the Author you used at the start of the reference.

URL - This is the web address of the site. You should not include a period after the URL.
